Hello! I’m Kristin, a nature-loving city girl exploring the world. I’m here to share travel inspiration and inspiration so that you can plan your own epic adventures!

I’ve been traveling since I was six months old, and I haven’t stopped since. I’m lucky enough to have lived in five countries on four continents before age 18. And I’m privileged to have a good passport.

But there is still so much of the world to see!

I’ve done some solo travel in my time, but these days you’ll mostly find me on the road with my partner Xavier. We enjoy visiting the greatest hits in a place (they are usually popular for a reason), but we really love to explore places less traveled.

In places not overcome with tourism, travelers are able to have deeper, less transactional interactions with local people. We really cherish those interactions. Truly our fondest memories come not from the famous places we have seen, but from but from time spent with special people we have met along the way, often in out-of-the-way places.

WHY DO I BLOG?

You know that feeling when you have just done or seen something really cool and you want to tell everyone you know? Well, it happens to me often—especially when I have just been to a place that is not on everyone’s radar. That’s why I am excited about using my blog to inspire like-minded independent travelers to visit places that are relatively unknown or under-rated—and give them the information they need to plan their own epic adventure.

WHAT’S WITH THE NAME “BMORE NOMADIC”?

Well…honestly, I’d like to be more nomadic!

But since I am not living the dream of being location independent, most of the time I am living a relatively normal life in Baltimore, affectionately known to us locals as “Bmore”. As much as I like traveling, I also really like having a place to come home to, so I am not one of those people who is going to sell everything to pursue a life of travel (at least that’s not the plan right now!). And hey, Baltimore is a super-affordable place to live so I can sock away all my spare pennies into the travel fund!

Even though it feels like I’m mostly in Bmore, when friends see me, they always ask “how long are you in town?” or “where are you going next?”…so I guess I have a reputation for being nomadic. Pretty much all my waking hours are spent daydreaming about all the places I want to go. I’m up for short trips but I really love to travel for longer when I can. You know as well as I do that most of the time you are lucky to fit in a one- or two-week vacation, and you have to work hard to make the most of it. I hope this site serves as an inspiration and a resource for others who love to travel near and far, on short and long trips, solo and with a partner.

WHAT’S WITH THE CAMELS?

And oh, hey—I love love love camels, and what represents a nomadic lifestyle better than that?! Those furry floppy lips, those luscious long eyelashes, that sassy don’t-care attitude, and those knobby knees! What’s not to love?! I mean, they are incredible creatures, able to survive in the desert for weeks without food or water—while schlepping your stuff, no less. The more camels the better!
